Tsering Dorjee Dekhang is a qualified Tibetan doctor. He has completed Tibetan bachelors degree (Kachupa Degree) from the Tibetan Medical & Astrological Institutue (T.M.A.I.) of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Dharamsala, India in 1992. After graduation he received further training in herbal medicine formulation under the guidance of late Dr. Tenzin Choedak, who was the personal physician to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. After several years of working at the T.M.A.I., he did further studies and examination and received doctorate degree (Menrampa Degree) with honours in Tibetan Medicine in the year 2005.
Dr.Tsering Dorjee Dekhang has authored the book , "The Handbook of Tibetan Medicinal Plants", Published in 2008 and co-authored the book, “Tibetan Medicinal Plants” published by Medpharm scientific publisher, Stuttgart, Austria, 2000. He also translated several other books on Tibetan Medicine and other health related books as well as contributed articles to medical journals. He was also selected among the first two Tibetan physicians to provide courses on Tibetan Medicine to Western trained medical professionals in Austria.
Dr.Dekhang meets patients from all walks of life and provides proper care according to the varying need of clients including both mental and physical disorders.
He has given lectures on Tibetan Medicine at various international conferences and workshops. He contributed his expertise towards David Suzuki’s Nature of Things documentary film on Tibetan Medicine titled "The Blue Buddha, Lost Secrets of Tibetan Medicine". In addition, he has also contributed to the Tibetan medicine documentary film; "Die Sprechstunde Tibetische Medizindocumented", which was documented by Dana, Germany.
Dr. Tsering Dorjee Dekhang now lives in Toronto, Canada, and has presented lecture on Tibetan Medicine at the University of Toronto, Seneca College as well as also in other centres. Currently he is a licensed Holistic Practitioner and a Professional member of the Canadian Herbalist Association.
